Describe how you styled our bag with your look:

I wanted a fun, colorful look since I was attending a birthday party but I still wanted to look “put-together” so I paired my favorite Levi’s with an Old Navy button-down shirt, DV by Dolce Vita cork wedges and a hot pink blazer.

Describe your personal style:

I believe my personal style is always evolving. I definitely love trying new things and experimenting with colors. I feel as if each day is a reason to “dress up” so why not have fun with it?

How long have you been blogging? What got you into blogging?

I’ve been blogging for about a year now, and living here in Miami made me realize there aren’t many Miami fashion bloggers. Miami isn’t known for fashion like New York and L.A. and I want to change that. I started Young, Wilde & Free because I want people to see that Miami is a fashion forward city.

Who’s closet would you hijack?

If I could hijack anyone’s closet it would be the closet of my favorite designer, Jeremy Scott, and the closet of Michelle Harper. What I love about their style is that it’s so unexpected. They’re fearless when it comes to fashion which is admirable.

Describe how you styled our bag with your look:

The weather in New Orleans was in the low 80s with humidity at equal percent. It was the perfect chance to rock these green shorts from Forever 21 for the first time this season. I love printed fabrics and mixing colors so I matched them with a black and white near-chevron printed tank from H&M. Matched with these newly-acquired camel sandals from TJ Maxx, the whole outfit was perfect for walking around the Jazz Fest. The Karlie Convertible was a great accessory. Durable so I could carry my camera, wallet, water bottles and a book. And I loved how the color played off my sandals.

Describe your personal Style

I’m still experimenting with my personal style everyday, but I would say minimalist classic with color accents. I love adding pops of color to my wardrobe, which is evolving from neutral-heavy into more colors and mixed prints and polka dots (love polka dots!). But I love adding a neon bag or finger nails to a basic outfit.

Who’s closet would you hijack?

And if I could hijack any one’s closet it would be the one and only Solange. She’s the perfect mix of indie and modern Brooklyn Boheme. I haven’t seen anyone rock mixed prints like her. Plus, she rocks a mean natural!

My mom never gave me fashion advice, which to me was the best fashion advice ever. It meant I got to develop my own individual personal style on my own

Name your style icon

I don’t really have a style icon. I just love seeing women who are unafraid to express who they are through the medium of personal style. I guess some of my style heroes are the women featured on Advanced Style. I love their sense of empowerment and fearlessness.

Best advice for someone just getting into fashion

I don’t know about fashion, as I believe fashion and personal style are two very different things. But for someone just becoming interested in expressing themselves more through their personal style, I would say, be brave and don’t care about what other people think. Dress to make yourself happy and in a way which communicates who you are. I believe that personal style is an art form and a powerful way of nonverbally expressing who you are as a person.

Describe how you styled our bag with your look:

I loved playing up the red & whiskey tones of the bag by choosing to add red to my own look, as well as whiskey hued wedge shoes; for me, it’s the perfect go-to weekend look!

Describe your personal style:

I would say that my style focuses on a feminine & girly aesthetic, sometimes a little vintage and always comfy! I like feeling relaxed & comfortable in my own skin and outfits.

Who’s closet would you hijack:

Sarah Jessica Parker’s closet for sure… or the Anthropologie warehouse. Heaven!

Best advice for someone just getting into fashion:

I would say firstly get inspired by following a few fashion blogs and take a peek at pinterest – there’s so much inspiration out there. As for choosing trends for yourself?! Make sure you wear what you love, feel comfortable in, and don’t be afraid to take a few risks. Lastly, I’d recommend snapping a few photos of yourself in your outfits. It really helps you learn what works for you!

Describe how you styled our bag with your look:

I really loved the pop of yellow on my Claire Belted bag so I wanted to try and incorporate with a very spring colored frock, so it only made sense to put it together with a pretty peach colored summer dress.  Quite simple in theory, but I love combining two colors which are on the same side on the color wheel.  Pairing the peach and yellow really warmed up my look.

Describe your personal style:

I’d describe my style as feminine, girly, with a splash of vintage whimsy.  I try to incorporate some sort of vintage piece or vintage inspired piece into my day to day looks.

Best advice for someone just getting into fashion:

When I first started getting into fashion I took a lot of my fashion cues from magazines, such as Seventeen and Teen Vogue.  Now that I’m older, I’ve come to find most of my inspiration from peers, be it bloggers, street styles, or friends.  I also like to try out new trends and see how they mix with my vintage pieces to make it more of my own look.  Experimentation is the best part of finding your style and showing off your fashionable side.

How long have you been blogging? What got you into blogging?

Starting a blog is like taking a giant leap of faith in yourself. I was scared to put myself out there, but in the end I’m so glad I did. I met the bestest friends through my blog and all the while we’re consistently inspiring each other to dress in fun creative ways. I actually got into blogging in August 2009 after reading Jessica’s blog, What I Wore and I felt like I just had to try it out.

The bag has such a graphic look to it, I felt it would look best paired with solids in modern and clean silhouettes. The two times (so far!) I have shown it on the blog I paired it with bold colorblocking ensembles so the bag could be well showcased but not get lost against a print.

once a reader said I was Classic Elegant. I think it’s a good description, but I like to switch up classic pieces by choosing modern bold colors and accessories.

How long have you been blogging? What got you into blogging?
I started blogging in 2005. I had a new job and they didn’t yet have the work for me, so for a week I had to “look busy.” I had seen a news show about blogs and had been reading Stephanie Klein’s Greek Tragedy and decided blogging would keep me busy. From all my years as a personal shopper and apparel merchandiser, I found that pretty much all women looked good in certain garments, and having a core wardrobe of certain pieces would have any woman ready for any occasion life would throw in her direction. Wardrobe Oxygen started with me jotting down those ideas and it grew from there.
Who’s closet would you hijack?
That’s a toughie. Maybe Rachel Bilson? I like how she keeps her wardrobe staples classic but uses accessories and trendy pieces to keep it modern and fresh.
If you were a shoe, what kind would you be?
A leather pump with a pointy toe and a very slim 3″ heel. It would be something classic like black leather but with an unexpected edge like a leopard lining or metal heel.
If you could only wear one color for the rest of your life, what would you choose?

I’m all about pops of color when wearing neutrals, which is the reason I chose the orange bag from Handbag Heaven in the first place.  When I put my outfit together of grey, sequins, and printed pants, I instantly wanted to add one of my favorite color combos, orange and pink, through my hand bag and shoes,  for the extra pop I needed.

Describe your personal Style:
My personal style is eclectic and feminine with a bit of edge.  I love feminine silhouettes, mixing vintage pieces with modern pieces, and loads of jewelry .

Best fashion advice your mom ever gave you:
Always leave the house looking your best (whatever my best is).

Best advice for someone just getting into fashion:
Be less concerned with fashion, what comes down the runway and hangs on the racks, and more concerned with crafting your own style, how you put fashion together, and have fun with it.

Geesh, just one? lol I would take rings, because I rarely leave the house without one (even when I just run to Target or the grocery store)
