New Merch’ Monday: Mary Kate Studded Messenger

Ever stare aimlessly into a closet literally full of clothes and still remain unable to find anything to wear?  Believe you me–I know the feeling.  It’s a tiring process  constantly trying to remain relevant trend-wise.  Not to mention investing money in those clothes, handbags, and shoes that you will probably wear a handful of times.

Depressing.

Mary Kate Olsen Studded Messanger handbag purseLuckily, I may have found a solution for us both.  I give you the Mary Kate Studded Messenger–an edgy tote that is currently very much in style, but also has staying power in the trend department.  This stylish matte leatherette is available in basic black or cream, while the interior is lined with  a silky green, orange, and purple paisley fabric. Wild.

The Mary Kate has compartments located inside the bag to help keep you organized while on the go. However, my favorite part of this beautifully constructed carrier is the heavily studded front flap, bringing a rock and roll vibe to this otherwise, conservative shape. A long adjustable strap allows you to have the option of turning the Mary Kate into a shoulder purse, or simply draping it diagonally across the chest as a hands-free messenger.

Handbags with longer straps that drape across the body have been taking runways and  celebrities stylists by storm, and the the Mary Kate Studded Messenger is a safe way to test out this new look.  No more plain Jane handbags for you, Missy!

Now, if there was only a way to achieve this look affordably.  Oh wait… the Mary Kate will only set you back $49.95. Can I get a Hallaluyah? So grab this pretty and save yourself from getting into a fist fight with your wardrobe–always good to avoid. Trust me…

New Merch’ Monday: Leopard Print Pleated Bag

.work.beat.fierce.sounds.

.work.beat.fierce.sounds.

Every so often, a person comes across something that completely changes her perspective, something that makes acceptable–desirable, even–what was previously ruled-out.

I don’t do animal print bags.  Never have, never will was going to.  I think they’re tired.

Enter: The Leopard Print Pleated Bag.

Holy animal print.  I am IN LOVE.  This bag does animal print the right way.  With the color fading from creme to brown and back, the all-over print cleverly avoids being too much.  The pleating along the opening of the bag helps tone down the print, as well as gather attention.

(Get it?  Gather?  Because they’re pleats.  Pleats are gathered fabric.  Alright.)

::: grrrowuhll :::

::: grrrowuhll :::

What I find interesting about the bag is the way the leopard print should be the point that draws your attention, yet I feel it’s the detailing that does that, instead.  The print is noticeable, yes, but the pleating, hard plastic handles, pegs on top of the bag, and the vintage bubble shape hold much more of the overall appeal of the bag.

And I haven’t even talked about how gloriously gigantic this thing is.  Your apartment is going to start getting jealous of your new bag with all the stuff you’ll be taking with you every day.

I am not sure I would use the shoulder strap, as the handles hang a little awkwardly, but I guess you could rock it with that “eh, who cares?” vibe, you wild hipster chick.

Peering in, I am delighted by the polka dot interior (cute lining is SO important, and you know it’s true), and I think you may even be able to use the Leopard Print Pleated Bag as a laptop bag.  You might have to slide it in sideways, but I just got my 13-inch MacBook in there.

It’s about determination.

Anyway, I think you should pick up a Leopard Print Pleated Bag and let me know how you love it.  I was thiiiiis close to getting it, but I decided against it, so I would love to hear what I’m missing out on, if anyone decides to get one!

And if you don’t get one, what do you think of it?  Too much leopard, or did I convince you that the details balance it out?  Let’s hear those thoughts!

New Merch Monday: Grace Motorcycle Clutch

The Challenge: to be fashion forward.  When everyone is trying for a look that stands out, finding a piece that speaks for itself in saying “I am unique” can be a tough feat.

But I have good news, you are at the right blog spot, at the right time. After one look at the Grace Motorcycle Clutch, this challenge is oh so achievable.

First, the blend of soft, violet-grey coloring lends this clutch a chic, glam-rock vibe.  The easy-to-open clasp at top (always a classy look) is just another amazing edition to what this clutch’s offerings.  And of course, the bag is adorned with tiny silver studs, which in my opinion, are what truly make this bag.  A silky, polka dot lining can be found inside the clutch, with zippered pockets to store credit cards, lip gloss — you know, the important stuff.

The Grace Motorcycle Clutch speaks for itself and with this darling, the person next to you will be thinking where did she get that?  Whether you’re out for a lunch date or at a fabulous party, believe me, heads will turn.

And hey, let’s say an amazing man (whether it’s your hubby, or a broodingly handsome stranger) asks you for a dance.  No problem, the Grace Motorcycle Clutch comes with a detachable handle, along with a longer chain handle that allow you to easily transform this hand held beauty into either a shoulder bag, or a dangling wristlet.

Dazzling, edgy, glamorous, rockstar and only $39.95 — those the the facts. You know what to do with them.

New Merch’ Monday: Haley Pleated Shopper

Haley in Grey

Haley in Grey

Due to it being President’s Day, I tried to tie in some sort of Presidential joke about how cool this Haley Pleated Shopper Bag is, but it felt like one of those “how much does a polar bear weigh?  Enough to break the ice,” openers.

No good.  And rarely facilitates taking anything home.

The Haley deserves better.

True story: I almost bought this bag, but it’s just barely a different shade of grey than my new favorite jacket, thus I couldn’t justify it if I couldn’t carry it all the time.

My life is so full of drama.

Haley in Turquoise

Haley in Turquoise

From the braided handles to the ruching, the Haley has the perfect amount of perfect detailing to make for a perfect bag.  The long pocket at the front of it saves the bag from looking like a big ol’ tote whilst balancing the size of the bag.

Plus, the tassel is sweeeet!

The color choices are pretty fantastic (so long as you don’t have a new favorite jacket just slightly different than the shades available…but I already talked about that).

Grey is always a perfect neutral, allowing you to wear just about any color combination, and turquoise, having made a huge comeback in recent seasons, was named THE Color of 2010 by Pantone.

Seeing as how a girl always needs a go-to neutral bag and a pop-of-color bag, I don’t see any reason why one wouldn’t need both options of the Haley.  Color me logical.

New Merch Monday: Classic Zebra Print Shopper

Goodbye snow — Helooo Spring Break! Well, almost! Either way, watch out — your wild side is about to be exposed, because the Classic Zebra Print Shopper takes the simple zebra print bag to the next level at an extremely affordable price of $44.95.  Not only is zebra print particularly trendy at the moment, making this bag the perfect update to your spring wardrobe, but its design is very practical as well.

Loads of storage and convertible straps make this little number the perfect bring-along when you need all of your essentials.  One zippered pocket and two open pockets are located inside to help you keep track of smaller items like lip gloss and emergency mascara. The front has two open top pouches, great for items you need to access quickly and frequently, like you cell phone or Ipod.

The exterior’s creamy white background is adorned with vintage zebra stripes, which fade from brown to black, and then back to brown again, adding true dimension to the bag. Golden stitching and gold hardware complete this classic-with-a-twist look.  My favorite part of the Classic Zebra Print Shopper, however, is the pink fabric lining the bag’s interior.  The contrasting colors really add that special something, not to mention I love pink.

The Classic Zebra Print Shopper has an extra attachable canvas strap, so you can easily convert this bag into a messenger for long days of errand running. Then just unhook the strap and voila — your stylish purse is ready for nightlife again! This quality is perfect for traveling.  In a suitcase full of completely “necessary” clothing and accessories, you will only need one purse. Lifesaver.

See you at the beach!

New Merch’ Monday: Ryland Downtown Hobo

There are a handful of things I love about the Ryland Downtown Hobo.  One of which may or may not be the way it reminds me of the bag Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) carries when she runs into its designer (James Holt, played by Daniel Sunjata *hyperventilate*) at a party in Devil Wears Prada.

still thinking about D. Sunjata...

still thinking about D. Sunjata...

Or, you know, something…like…that.

So this bag is great.  It’s a little different than my normal bag shape, but it definitely works.  I could see many a nicknack completely necessary object fitting in this guy and being schlepped all around town.  Easily.

The hardware on it is thick.  It just looks sturdy, you know?  From the rouching at the bottom, all the way up the studded side, to the double O-ring strap.  All good.

And those studs?  Fuhgeddaboudit.  I’m in love.  It combines rocker, country, and wild all in one, without that Bret Michaels subtext.

Noooobody wants that.  Really.  Put the eyeliner away.

For an everyday bag, the Ryland Downtown works well, due to its size and comfort over the shoulder, yet it still has a special quality to it.  It’s got a unique shape up top, and the shiny pattern will cause a double-take or two.

I mean, who doesn’t like shiny stuff?  Right?

New Merch Monday: Zebra Print Campus Hobo

In need of a little adventure?  Grab the Zebra Print Campus Hobo and don’t look back! It’s the perfect sidekick to bring along for the ride.  This stylish, oversized hobo has plenty of room for all your essentials.  Coated in a classy jet black and creamy zebra print, and highlighted with pink leatherette and polished silver hardware, this bag is definitely a frisky find. However, the hobo’s slightly textured feel and contrasting stitching is what truly sets it apart from the norm. You can literally feel the quality at your fingertips, and believe me, it feels good.

Whether you’re draping this bag over your shoulder, or swinging it over your elbow, the Zebra Print Campus Hobo will not let you down.  The durability of the shoulder strap makes for some serious comfort, at a seriously affordable price.  It also has amazing quality and sustainability, leaving a long-lasting impression in your closet for years to come!

The inner lining of the bag is a rich burgundy-brown, revealed by a sturdy top zipper. Once opened, a long zippered pocket, along with three open top pockets rest inside.  Slots are available for organizing your smaller essentials. An additional zippered pocket is located on the back of this amazing bag for easy access to anything from your lipstick to your ipod.

Convinced yet of your wild side?  If not, prepare to be very soon.  Handbag Heaven also offers smaller matching items, such as the Zebra Print Trimmed Wallet, if you’re looking for an amazing duo.

My advice? Book this bag, and pack it up!  The designer-style safari ride won’t wait around forever.  With the Zebra Print Campus Hobo’s limited availability at a new an improved price ($37.95), I think you know what to do.

All Aboarddd and Buckle Up!!!

New Merch’ Monday: Lily Stud Hobo

teal

teal

Let’s color by numbers with this one.  I’ll give you bullets.

Take notes.

  • Structure is solid, allowing the bag to stand upright when you set it down.
  • The studs are out-of-control in style right now.  I advise incorporating them not into your jackets, but instead on your hand candy.
  • Black will always be a winner, and the teal is a wonderful transition color.  It honestly works for every season with the brown handle up there.
  • Accented by a dark gold, the bag has a sophisticated vibe, making it a great handbag for a wide range of ages.

    black

    black

  • While the opening is slightly smaller than desired, the structure allows one to see the whole inside of the bag, thus eliminating any ohmygosh-I-can’t-find-ANYTHING-in-here issues.  You know what I’m talking about.
  • The bag, overall is simple, but the embellishments (such as the braided strap, studs, and curvy seam along the bottom) make it special.

If you’re nervous about the stud trend, the Lily is a great way to try it out tastefully, while still staying true to your slightly more subdued side.  You stay classy, Planet Earth.

New Merch Monday: Ribbon Shoulder Tote

FushiaangleIs there a better handbag to give or be given than the  handbag that resembles a gift itself? I’d say no and the Ribbon Shoulder Tote is the perfect bag with which to close out the holiday season, and begin the new year.

A fashion resolution within itself, this shiny, stylish tote is diagonally draped with a fashionable bow on its front, and a built in pocket on its back.  Other features include its roomy size, handy inside cell phone pouches, and spacious built-in pockets.  The Ribbon Shoulder Tote is the perfect touch for a variety of looks, and can be used in any environment — from a casual lunch date with a friend, to a classy cocktail party.

blackinside

The only real dilemma I even forsee about the bag  is which color to choose from.  In the three stunning shades of pink, purple, and black, this trendy tote will definitely be a real eye catcher!

With all that gift giving you did last month, it’s about time you gave yourself a present!

New Merch’ Monday: Roselyn Flower Satchel

The moment I saw this bag, I knew it was a classic.  This is the handbag you buy because “it’s pretty,” and realize time and time again just how great it really is.

tickle the ivory

tickle the ivory

One look at the Roselyn, and you can see it’s big enough to hold everything you can think of, but the shape, with its inward and upward curve, is feminine, letting it still look like a handbag, and not a tote.  The huge flower on the front is definitely a statement, yet, being the same fabric as the rest of the bag, is far from gaudy or over-the-top.

Immediately, I grabbed the ivory bag, and just that simple addition to my all-black outfit took my look to a whole new level.  Had I been wearing some crazy, random heels, I could even have related my look to one of Carrie Bradshaw.

I know.  The bag is that good.

Aside from the form, even the functionability (totally a word) of this bag is drool-worthy.  I mentioned before the impressive size, but what makes the size work is the zipper.

ebony, baby

ebony, baby

It doesn’t just close along the top, the zipper goes several inches down each side, allowing a greater opening at the top, which, in turn, leads to less frustrated sighs from the driver seat as, you know, said driver reaches for way too long into the bag in the passenger seat, because I can’t find! What I’m looking for! In my bag!

I mean, that’s just one problem I guess I can kind of see some other, less-prepared, more-unorganized handbag schleppers possibly having.

Anyway.

The only change I could possibly make to this bag would be to add an outside pocket, but the flower on the front may have hypnotized me into believing that is not all that important anymore.  Thus, the Roselyn Flower Satchel is definitely on the top of my covet list.
