Who’s that girl? Who’s that girl? It’s Jess! Have you seen Fox’s new sitcom The New Girl? If not, you’re definitely missing out. The show stars Zooey Deschanel as incredibly nerdy and socially awkward schoolteacher Jess. In the show, her long-term boyfriend Spencer (or the Wizard) cheats on her and that leaves Jess finding a new place to live. She moves in with three boys she found through Craig’s List and hilarity ensues.

Fake hillbilly teeth and awful basketball moves don’t have America fooled though. It’s hard to look at Jess and think of her as the goofball the show makes her out to be. Sure Zooey might have a goofy personality. But she’s also a great actor, musician, and fashion icon. Her cute, quirky style is to die for and men certainly don’t mind looking at her. Zooey just has that charm and I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say most girls want to be her, even dorky Jess would do.

In the most recent episode, she escorts her roommate Nick to a wedding to make his ex-girlfriend jealous. I don’t want to spoil it, but the episode ends in a pretty extreme version of the chicken dance. Jess looked amazing at the wedding.

I love the purple dress — and the handbag, too! You can obviously dress it up, but it seems like it could be used for casual attire as well. I’m not sure where Fox goes to get their costumes, but I found two similar handbags from Handbag Heaven that would do the trick.

Any Gossip Girl fans out there? Whether you are or not, it’s still hard not to know who Leighton Meester is.  Tell me, will you be tuning in on September 26 for season 5 of Gossip Girl? I have to admit I’m already roped into yet another season. What with the return of Georgina, Vanessa selling Dan’s story, Lily under house arrest, Serena in LA, con-artist Charlie, the mysterious positive home pregnancy test, and Blair’s wedding planning — shew!!!

Don’t let the name fool you: The Teen Choice Awards honor more than just adolescents. Twenty-somethings like Darren Criss and thirty-somethings like Ian Somerhalder hit the red carpet earlier this month. Every year, celebrities gather to celebrate movies, music, TV, summer and fun miscellaneous awards like favorite “twit” (this year: Justin Bieber) and favorite vampire (Robert Pattinson).

But some celebrities know there is more to life than swag and thumbs up from the fashion police. According to examiner.com, over 50 stars including Emma Stone and Joe Jonas “autographed and wrote personal messages to military families with deployed family members.” Along with the notes and letters, $5000-worth of international long-distance calling cards will be given out to reach loved ones overseas. Generally, when an artist disappears for years then releases a new album, it becomes their magnum opus. They spend weeks upon weeks coming back to themselves and tearing down walls and Vanessa Carlton is no exception. Two weeks ago, she released her latest effort “Rabbits on the Run” four years after her last endeavor “Heroes & Thieves.”

Editorial reviews have been mixed. According to metacritic.com, the album’s average score is 72 with its most positive review from “Entertainment Weekly” (83) and its least favorable from the Boston Globe (60). Ethereal and less than forty minutes long with songs that are more personal than poppy, the range is understandable.

Fans, however, stay true. On Amazon.com, “Rabbits on the Run” has 12 5-star reviews, 3 4-star reviews and 3 3-star reviews.

“Her idea to use tape-recording [has] gotta be the best move she has ever made,” Annie Feng says, “especially when it comes to an album with only 10 songs.”

She goes on to describe the music as “simple” and “repetitive” but also “dreamy” and filled with “child-like innocence.”

Oprah Winfrey is set to receive an honorary Oscar, and it’s about time. She will be honored along with actor James Earl Jones and make up artist Dick Smith at the pre-Oscar ceremony. Jones and Smith will receive Honorary Awards, while Winfrey will be presented with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.

The award is to be given for her philanthropic efforts.

“Oprah has given and given and given,” Tom Sherak, the President of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said. “She’s a member of the Academy, she was nominated for an Academy Award and she has produced movies. This is not about personality. This is about a person who has come from the depths, risen to the heights and given back.”

Some people, like  “LA Times” columnist Patrick Goldstein, say Oprah isn’t worthy of an Oscar. He says, “Winfrey has done good work in the world, but that’s not enough to merit an Oscar.”  Worthy or not, you can’t deny she’s been a successful T.V. host, actress, producer, and philanthropist. She’s also the CEO of her own network, OWN.

Unless you are a Spanish film aficionado, you might not recognize Elsa Pataky for her acting career (“Snakes On A Plane,” “Beyond Re-Animator”) but you may have seen her modeling.

Or with her ex-fiancé Adrien Brody before marrying Chris Hemsworth this past Christmas. However, don’t let the stereotype fool you – Elsa speaks five languages (Spanish, French, English, Italian and Romanian) and has taken Journalism classes at the University of San Pablo.

Her latest project, the fifth installment of the “Fast and Furious” movies, is due for DVD release in October.

Otherwise, it seems as though Elsa’s been lying low lately. Aside from appearing alongside her hubby in town or at events (like the “Captain America” premiere last month), she is only listed on imdb as post-production for an animated film called “Snowflake, the White Gorilla” (directed by Andrés G. Schaer). Set to be released by Filmax International, the synopsis says the film follows Snowflake, “the only white gorilla in the world,” and his adventures with “a Buddhist black panther reincarnated into the body of a red panda” and “a smart little girl” named Paula.

Denise Richards is more than just an actress and Charlie Sheen’s ex wife. She is now an author of a memoir.  In her book, The Real Girl Next Door, Denise exposes parts of her life such as marriage with Charlie Sheen and modeling early in her career.

Denise decided not to expose the worst parts of her marriage to Charlie. “It was really important for me to keep the details of the downfall of our marriage between us, and I really wanted to focus on the feelings because that’s what I thought the women and men reading this could relate to,” says Denise.

In the midst of writing her memoir, Denise is also busy taking care of her daughters by Charlie, Sam who is 7 and Lola who is 6. She also has an adopted daughter named Eloise. These little girls are taking up most of her time.

Denise is dating again, but she says it’s nothing serious — yet.  She says, “I loved being married and I loved being a wife—for the short time that I was. I love being in love, so I know I will definitely meet the right someone some day.”

Denise is always looking naturally beautiful and her fashion sense is always top-notch.  She has to keep a hot handbag on her shoulder to store all of her necessities and her  girls’ necessities as well.

Although Julia Roberts is not someone most people think of as a method actress, IndiaWest.com reports she started practicing Hinduism while shooting Eat, Pray, Love (2010) in Gurgaon and still has affection for the country.

Guess who else loves India: her children!

“My kids were really into the culture of every place we went,” Julia says. “Hazel also wanted to shave her head, so I let her shave the back of her head. They would chant, and they were just interested.”

Hazel also said she wants to live in India when she grows up!

Currently, Julia is filming The Brothers Grimm: Snow White (2012) in Montreal with Indian-born director Tarsem Singh.

Not the same as experiencing India but close enough, right? Julia plays the Evil Queen with “Game of Thrones” star Sean Bean as The King and The Blind Side‘s Lily Collins as Snow White. Julia told IndiaWest.com that she thinks Tarsem’s Snow White will be “so fun.” We’re excited to see Julia play an evil queen too, but what about the sweet, quirky Julia we know and love?

This summer, actress Mila Kunis costars with singer-turned-actor Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits (2011). Scott Moore, stationed in Afghanistan, who posted a video online asking her to the Marine Corps Ball held on November 18th in North Carolina.

After Justin told Mila to accept, Cpl. Kelsey De Santis asked Justin to the Marine Corps Ball on November 12th in Washington D.C.  According to Yahoo! News, she said, “So Justin, you wanna call out my girl Mila, well I’m gonna call you out and ask you to go to the Marine Corps Ball with me.”  Both Mila and Justin are supporting our country by attending the dances with Cpl. Kelsey and Sgt. Scott!

One thing a lot of people don’t know about Friend with Benefits star Mila? She’s still very shy to show her body on camera. The scene where Mila exposes her derriere in the film is actually not her at all. The director held an audition for a butt double because Mila wasn’t ready to bare her goods. What a classy Mila Kunis!
